As part of SVCAC's Cabaret Fest 2024 on the DownStage, we are so excited to welcome back a familiar face to SVCAC - Ariella Salinas Fiore (Mamma Mia, In The Heights) in her critically acclaimed one woman tour de force show The Fat Girl’s Guide To Life, Sex, and Everything In Between for two performances only in the DownStage Cabaret! Conceived, written and performed by Ariella Salinas Fiore, The Fat Girl’s Guide To Life, Sex, and Everything In Between premiered at the Hollywood Fringe Festival earlier this year.
The size of your body is the least interesting thing about you. Despite this, lifelong fat girl Ariella Salinas Fiore is going to use her 10,000 hours of experience in balking at a society that tells her to be small and teach you how she has learned to navigate life, sex, and the world in a bigger body.
In The Fat Girl’s Guide To Life, Sex, and Everything In Between, Ariella will guide you through lessons on taking up space, being sexy, and how to start a revolution by worrying less about our most ephemeral of possessions, this fleshy meat sack we call a body. Come learn how to own your space, be sexy, and topple the patriarchy!
Tickets for The Fat Girl’s Guide To Life, Sex, and Everything In Between are $18 for All Seats Reserved. Seating is Cabaret Style at tables so that audiences can enjoy a glass of wine or tasty dessert during the show! Beverages and desserts are not included in the ticket price and are available for an additional cost.
Join the Playwright/Performer for a brief TalkBack with the Audience Following the Performance!
PLEASE NOTE: This production is recommended for audiences 18 & above due to mature subject matter, strong language, and adult themes.
Ariella Salinas Fiore shines in her show with a mix of fun, frisky, and fabulous energy. Her narrative sheds light on the universal struggle to stay authentic in a world that often dictates how one should be rather than accepting individuals as they are. Fat, skinny and everyone in between should see this show! Los Angeles Female Playwrights Initiative
Here’s What Hollywood Fringe Audiences Said . . .
A beautiful, insightful, empowering solo show that combines the power of a TED Talk with the brutal honesty of growing up and living in a plus-sized body.
A must-see triumph of inclusivity and candor, this show takes you from belly laughs to tears and back again.
Honest, funny, heartwarming and telling with truth, fact, humility and brilliance.
A truly gorgeous show that unabashedly celebrates living large in body and spirit!
Ariella Salinas Fiore takes the audience on a funny, frustrating and ultimately triumphant journey through what it is like to be both fat and sexy. And through it all reminds everyone that our bodies are the least important parts of who we are.
